Rev. Ignatius Shimi Preetham, was born and brought up in a God-fearing Christian family, in the town of Rajahmundry, on the banks of river Godavari, in Andhra Pradesh. Shimi came to the saving knowledge of Christ through Evangelical Union (EU), an auxiliary unit of UESI, a Christian movement that reaches out to the students in India, and have been actively engaged since then, in his local Church and EU activities. After his post-graduation (M. Sc in Information Technology, from Chennai), through a Student Voluntary Program, in association with EU ministry, he visited the state of Haryana. During this mission exposure field visit, having been called by God, joined UESI as a staff worker. He got married and was blessed with a son, and had served in UESI for 9 years in Haryana, along with his family. He also pursued M.A in Gender and Development Studies and had qualified for NET in the field of ‘Women Studies’.
After relocating to Lucknow, and having experienced God’s miraculous healing touch from the death bed, during the second wave of Covid, he rededicated himself for the service of God and had joined Grace Bible Church, pastoral team, on 1st of July 2022. His wife, Raj Laxmi Mishra, a trained Nurse, works in City Montessori School, and his son, Anurag Samuel Ignatius, is in 9th standard, in St. Francis College. Shimi alongside his pastoral ministry is currently pursuing through online mode, M.A in Christian Counseling, through South Asian Institute of Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS, Bangalore). His passion is to teach God’s word, mentor and equip others in the likeness of Christ, while being equipped himself as a lifelong student of the word of God.
